Problem and Solution:
Our clients face several challenges that we help them overcome: a fear of learning, stemming from a negative perception of the learning process formed in the past (that learning is boring, time-consuming, uninteresting, and ineffective). There is also anxiety that teachers will pressure you as a student, and that learning will occur through coercion, shame, or guilt.) One of the biggest problems is the lack of results—studying a foreign language for years without being able to use it for personal purposes. Another problem is the formation of a false perception among students about themselves and their role and importance in the learning process.
Our school addresses these issues through the following: 1. Our methodology has been developed over the years based on our own experience and combines the most effective techniques from various language teaching methods and approaches. What radically transforms students’ learning experience—their self-awareness, results, and the quality of the process itself—is neuro-linguistic coaching. Thanks to this knowledge, our teachers know how to foster students’ autonomy, how to create the best conditions for knowledge acquisition and its active application in practice, and how to interact with students in a way that ensures their emotional state only enhances the effectiveness of learning.
Products and Services:
We specialize in teaching English through one-on-one and group lessons (ranging from 2 to a maximum of 7 students) as well as corporate training. I have also developed my own online product, “NeuroEnglish,” where I use video sessions to discuss neuro-techniques that help improve learning, using English tenses as a practical foundation.
Audience:
High school students, university and college students, and adults of all ages. This includes professionals in the IT, medical, and education sectors, middle and senior managers, business owners, HR managers, homemakers, and self-employed professionals.
Investment proposal:
Dialogue Language Center has been growing through self-funded reinvestments (up to $18,000) and currently operates with a stable base of 70 active students.
The current focus is on attracting investment for:- marketing and scaling (paid acquisition, new channels);- team expansion;- research and testing of a proprietary learning system based on neuro-based techniques (focus groups). The goal is to transform language learning through neuro-language coaching and develop a scalable EdTech product.
History and mission of Dialogue Language center
The history of Dialog School is the story of its founder—that is, me, Olga Valkiv. In 2013, after working for a year and a half following my graduation from university, I decided to start my own independent practice and opened my first one-teacher classroom. Within six months, I began looking for my first teachers, as word of mouth had spread to the point where I couldn’t handle everything on my own. By 2014, we already had a small team (myself and two teachers), and we moved to a larger office. The school was becoming increasingly well-known in Zaporizhzhia; we changed our formats, and the people on the team began to change. But one thing remained constant—the desire to grow and improve the quality of education, to stand out from the competition. This is exactly what led to new formats (in many of them, we were the first in our city): the school welcomed its resident mascots, the cats Austin and Ferrari, we started hosting game nights, movie nights, and themed parties with photographers, contests, and prizes, as well as participating in local events (fairs)—all in English—to demonstrate that English isn’t just text in books, but an active part of life.
In 2020, we moved into an even larger office (114 square meters), which was designed entirely for the school; it embodies the spirit of Dialog (branded, spacious, and vibrant), allowing us to expand both our team and our client base (we saw an increase in the number of large groups, up to 10 people). With the onset of February 24, 2022, we transitioned entirely to an online format for work and learning. During this period, the school experienced both its peak in productivity (our staff included a recruiter and HR in addition to administrators and instructors) and its lowest point (this is the period right now, as we are seeing a decline in our client base). At the same time, it’s important to draw cause-and-effect connections: in 2024, I decided to focus on my professional development; I embarked on the path of neuro-linguistic coaching, which required time, attention, and resources. Now that the active phase of my training in neuro-linguistic coaching is behind me, I have the resources to breathe new life into my school, Dialog. The history of the Dialog School is dynamic because the school is truly a living organism; it has a heart, a soul, and a mind, but it lacks a physical body since I closed the office in November 2025, though I believe this is for the best right now.
My main goal and potential contribution to the world of EdTech (possible because I can give, and those who need it and are ready for it will take it) is a transformation in the vision of what learning can be, since a rigid educational system can hinder learning outcomes and foster a negative attitude toward learning in general among students. I can conduct workshops and webinars for teachers who are willing and open to changing their mindset, their communication habits with students, and their behavioral patterns as educators.
