NGO "Dignity Online"

Problem and Solution:

A lack of awareness among educators, parents and children about online risks, coupled with a lack of practical skills in responding to incidents of online abuse, leads to delayed assistance and increased harm to children.
We work in the fields of education, safety and awareness campaigns to protect children online. We build capacity and foster a culture of safe and informed behaviour among children and young people in the online world through education, initiatives and research in Ukraine. We have already developed over 70 educational programmes on digital safety.

Dignity Online creates practical training programmes, courses and materials that provide clear tools for identifying, preventing and responding to online violence, thereby enhancing the competence of professionals (psychologists, educators, social workers, youth police, etc.) and the safety of children in the digital environment.

Products and Services:

Online and offline courses for educators, psychologists, social workers, youth police officers and others; interactive training sessions and workshops on combating online violence; the development of teaching materials, guides and training programmes; nationwide awareness campaigns; research into online risks; expert consultations and support for the implementation of safety practices.

Our lessons are approved by the Ministry of Education and Science.
We have set up the country’s first helpline on children’s online safety, 1545 (hereinafter 3), and a psychological support helpline for children and parents on the topic of online risks, available on our website and via Telegram.

Audience:

- children and young people under the age of 18
- public sector staff (teachers, psychologists, social workers, youth police)
- private psychologists
- parents

Investment proposal:

History and mission of Dignity Online

We launched the #stop_sexтинг awareness and education campaign in 2018 with the aim of protecting Ukrainian children from online sexual abuse.

The team developed a helpline on online child safety, dozens of teaching materials and educational programmes, and held thousands of events across Ukraine. We have trained over 500,000 children and 160,000 adults, and this figure is constantly growing. We have also created Ukraine’s first interactive formats, books and educational tools, which are used both in Ukraine and abroad.

The idea for the project came to founder Anastasia Dyakova in 2017 after watching a presentation at a Council of Europe conference on online risks for children. Together with the team of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, she translated the video into Ukrainian, which served as the impetus for launching the campaign. Following its publication, parents and educators began reaching out to the initiative, and the first lesson was created, which was rolled out across the country.

In 2025, the organisation rebranded as Dignity Online, broadening its focus from sexting to all modern digital risks, including child recruitment and threats related to artificial intelligence. The organisation’s goal is to create a safe and dignified digital environment for every child.

MISSION - We empower and foster a culture of safe and mindful behaviour among children and young people in the online world through education, initiatives and research in Ukraine.

Company's values:

Dignity Online builds its work on five core values:● Child safety and dignity — every decision, program, and campaign serves one purpose: to protect children in the digital environment.● Partnership with specialists and state institutions — we don't work in isolation. Psychologists, educators, social services, juvenile police, and government bodies are our allies in creating systemic change.● Evidence-based and practical approach — no theory for theory's sake. All programs and materials are built on real cases, research, and proven practices.● Openness to innovation — from support chatbots to programs on AI-related risks: we track emerging threats and respond to them first.● Culture of responsibility and collaboration — systemic change in child protection is only possible through collective societal responsibility, not the efforts of individual organizations.

Description of the learning culture:

Dignity Online creates a learning environment where knowledge becomes practical skill — not abstract rules. All programs are interactive: workshops, role-play scenarios, real case discussions, and hands-on training. For children and teenagers — lessons that engage rather than frighten, with clear instructions on what to do when faced with online threats. For adult professionals — practical tools for identifying, preventing, and responding to online violence. The organization's lessons are officially endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, confirming their quality and compliance with national standards.93.1% of participants rate the materials as extremely useful — not because they have to, but because they genuinely work.

Success Stories:

In 2017, founder Anastasiia Diakova attended a Council of Europe conference on online risks for children. Together with the team of the Ukrainian Commissioner for Children's Rights, she translated the key video into Ukrainian and published it online. The response was overwhelming: parents and educators from across the country reached out immediately.
This sparked the launch of the #stop_sexting campaign in 2018 — Ukraine's first systemic initiative against child sexual abuse online. The first lesson scaled nationwide. Then came dozens of methodological materials, Ukraine's first online child safety helpline, and training programs for thousands of professionals.
In 2025, the organization rebranded as Dignity Online, expanding its focus from sexting to the full spectrum of digital threats: child grooming, cyberbullying, and artificial intelligence risks. The mission remains unchanged — for every child in Ukraine to navigate the online world safely, confidently, and with dignity.
